3 women among those proposed for Nakuru County CECs positions

Names of ten individuals have been proposed as the next Nakuru County CECs (County Executive Committee) members among them three women. The list that has been tabled before the County Assembly for vetting.
If the proposal sails through, the three are Eng. Lucy Wanjiku Kariuki (proposed CEC for Lands, Housing and Physical Planning), Dr. Immaculate Njuthe Maina (proposed CEC for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives) and Halima Gababa Abdullahi (proposed CEC for Youth, Culture, Gender, Sports and Social Services) will join the next Nakuru County cabinet.
Others who have been proposed as Nakuru County CECs include Lawrence Mwangani Mwania (Public Service,Training and devolution), Joseph Wainaina Kiuna (Finance and Economic Planning), Joseph Irungu Mburu (Infrastructure) and Dr.Jonah Manjari Mwangi (Health Services).
Raymond Komen Kimutai has been proposed for Education, ICT and E-Governmnet, Eng. Ng’eno (Water, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources while Dr. Peter Evans Kiplang’at has been proposed for Trade, Industry, Marketing and Tourism.
Addressing media in his office on Thursday morning, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui stated that he was optimistic the proposed names will sail thorugh at the Assembly level to allow them proceed with their duties.
“This is the brief summary of the people who will be working for the county. We have already submitted the same to the cCounty Assembly and we hope that they will be approved so that they can proceed to serve the people,” said the Governor.
In 2013 former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua faced a set back after the County Assembly rejected some of the names proposed forcing a fresh exercise on the same.
However, Governor Lee Kinyanjui says he is optimistic the County assembly will approve the proposed individuals since it is inclusive.
He added that the Chief Officers’ list in various ministries is expected latest by Thursday next week.
“We are currently working round the clock and am sure by next week Thursday the proposed list for Chief Officers will be out,” he said.
