A Nakuru Bishop charged with land fraud

A Nakuru Bishop was on Wednesday arraigned before a Nakuru court and charged with land fraud.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Patrick Ndegwa Munyua, a bishop at Life changing worship center was accused of defrauding 50 by a 100 parcel of land belonging to Benjamin Kimani.

The bishop allegedly blocked Kimani from accessing his land alleging it was his.Kimani asked to present the documents but the bishop had none on his disposal.

The crime was allegedly committed on July 27 at engashura area within Nakuru County.

Kimani reported the incident to local police station but no action was taken and he decided to report the incident to Nakuru DCI.

He was arrested at mile Sita and taken to DCI, Nakuru where he was charged and released on a police bail of Sh50, 000.He denied the charges and through his lawyer, he urged the court to release him on favorable bond terms.

“Am on a police cash bail of sh50, 000, we also urge the court to supply us with statements or any other documentary evidence” he said.

The court ordered that he be released on a surety bond of Sh50, 000 with and alternative Cash bail of Sh40, 000.

The court slated the case for a mention on August 28 and Case will be heard on October 24.
